Building Relationships

Communication is key. I need to know what you're feeling, experiencing and what you're looking to gain in order to best help you. In turn, I will explain the treatment and what you can expect to gain from it.

About Kristin:

Personal:

I am a daughter of the King, mother of a teenage son and a woman on a journey to  bring healing to a broken world- "one connection at a time."

I have been passionate about massage for almost 10 years. Being trained in both Eastern and Western modalities I naturally blend the two, in order to offer the most Holistic massage experience.

Recovery experience:

I have spent the last 8 years learning about recovery on a mental, emotional and spiritual level. Having a deeper understanding of how these areas effect the physical body I have begun incorporating this awareness into my practice.

This answer could change based on the season you're in. The best way to determine what's right for you is to look at your schedule, finances and needs. I tell all my clients that what matters most is consistency. Whether that's twice a month, once a quarter or once a year your body thrives on the regular rhythm of this connection time.

It is possible to feel sore up to 3 days after your massage. This can be similar to a post workout soreness. However, this is not the case for every person. It's my job to help determine what your body's limitations are and I generally start off every massage at a gentle to medium pressure. Depending on the state of your mind and body during that session you could feel minimum tenderness from very deep work or moderately sore after gentle work.

What to expect

Massage guidelines:

I'm honored to set the tone for your first massage. Although this experience is completely customizable, there are some basic guidelines to follow pre, present and post massage to ensure that you get the most from our time together.

Pre-Massage

  • The day before your massage make sure to hydrate, eat and rest well.
  • If possible, print and fill out your intake form ahead of time and think about what goals you might have for this massage.

Massage day!

  • Please begin by silencing your phone as you come into the studio, this helps reduce distractions and shows respect for our shared space.
  • Come in comfortable clothing and shoes that are easy to remove. I will invite you to dress down to your comfort level which could mean shorts and/or bra or fully undressed. Either way you will be properly draped with a sheet and blanket at all times.
  • Remove all jewelry, glasses, hearing aids and tie your hair up loosely. This allows the massage to flow naturally.
  • Throughout the massage the most important thing you can do is Breathe and Communicate your needs as they arise.
  • Keep in mind that just about everything in this space is adjustable and customizable: lighting, temperature, music, pressure etc.

Post Massage

  • After your massage I will offer you water and feedback about our session. This may include pointing out areas of tension or holding patterns in your body. I might suggest certain stretches or exercises to support those areas.
  • I'll get you checked out and suggest a time frame for re-booking.
  • For the rest of the day be extra kind to yourself. This may look like taking a nap, a bath or a gentle walk. If that's not available than I encourage you to slow your roll  as you go about your day and be mindful of your body's needs.

  • Schedule your session.
